My sessions for the ODC

In just a week time I will be visiting the ODC for a few action packed days of Office development. Together with my buddy Ted Pattison I will be hosting the pre-conference, on top of that I will be speaking about how you can enable your IWs using Open XML and VSTO.

The pre-conference is on OBA, so that basically covers the entire Office stack of technologies. We intend to keep it focused on client development in Word / Excel / Outlook and on server development using SharePoint. So if you're early come visit us and learn about Office in a friendly setting which allows more discussion than the presentations the rest of the week. I believe Ted was going to auction one of his infamous Hawaii-blouses to try and attract more of the female developer crowds, but I am unsure whether that'll actually work…

During my session I will show you how Open XML and VSTO can be used together to create a platform for structured authoring of document by making use of the new content-controls in Word 2007. The approach allows single-document as well as bulk-based operations and takes a nice roundtrip through the technologies used. I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 slides with content, the rest will be live demo (I am a risk taker, let's hope it will not result in live-debugging… J)

So, hope to see you at the ODC in a week!
