The Community Kit for SharePoint - Development Tools Edition

The Community Kit for SharePoint - Development Tools Edition is ready for you to enjoy. You can grab it from the Visual Studio Gallery, which is available right inside Visual Studio 2010. Together with Wesley Hacket, Waldek Mastykarz we have developed an awesome set of productivity tools for SharePoint developers worldwide. And don't forget all the others that chimed in during the envisioning and testing of this must-have product.

There are a ton of cool features in CKSDEV. My personal favorites are the new deployment capabilities with the auto / x-copy / and upgrade steps, together with our advanced content templates like the Linq To SharePoint template. They surely mean the world for my productivity. You do not have to be bound to the built-in model of doing a full retract / deploy but can be much more selective. Also the content templates are quite powerful already and will grow more mature over time.

For the future we have a load of exciting ideas. What I'd like to do is making deployment a no-brainer by recognizing the changes you make to your project between different builds and taking the appropriate action depending on those changes. Wouldn't it be nice to have a single button 'Deploy' that either X-Copies, Upgrades, or retract / deploys without you needing to think about it? Right!

For now I'd appreciate it if you can give our code a lab around your environment. Tell us about your likes and dislikes. We need you to make this project a bigger success than it already is on my dev box!
